On September 29, 2023, a General information meeting was held as part of the program for preventing the use of psychoactive substances among adolescents on the initiative of the Public Foundation “Free People” and the Department for Combating Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Modern narcotic drugs. How to recognize? What to do?”The college organized online participation in this event. 68 parents attended.Drug use is one of the most pressing and serious problems of our time. Modern drugs have become more accessible and act much faster, causing addiction, persistent behavioral disorders and irreversible health consequences.The reasons for using drugs can be simple curiosity, passively following the example of others, and a craving for new experiences.Infantile, excitable, easily suggestible people who are devoid of interests and have poor control over their desires often become dependent.Specialists from the Education Department of the Karaganda Region and representatives of the Free People Public Foundation told parents what to pay attention to in raising teenagers, and how to respond in a timely manner to changes in their behavior.
